Jake Dixon began his 2016 British Supersport campaign today (Friday) at Brands Hatch as the Dover-based contender experienced the MV Agusta for the first time, completing laps on the Tsingtao MV Agusta road bike to get his first taste of the Italian manufacturer.
19-year-old Dixon recently joined the team and ahead of their testing programme in the New Year, utilised the track time at his local circuit of Brands Hatch to get some initial feeling for the new machine.
Dixon said: "It was good to get back out on track before Christmas and we did some laps on the road bike, which as something you can buy straight off, has an amazing chassis and feels really nice to ride. It was a good chance for me to do some laps to get a feel for the MV Agusta before our first test with the race bike. We have support from the factory so I think next year is going to be mega and I can't wait to ride the race bike now because I have had so much fun today."
Dixon was joined by reigning Hel British Motostar Moto3 champion Scott Deroue, who joined the team for an initial test although the Dutch rider is yet to confirm his plans for next season.
