Quattro Plant Cool Kawasaki's Andy Reid has been names as an Ambassador for The Prince's Trust ahead of his next season in the British Supersport Championship.
The 21-year-old Jordanstown racer is one of Northern Ireland's up and coming sports stars and has signed up to help raise awareness of the work The Prince's Trust does to help change the lives of young people across the province. Reid will take part in activities including visiting young people on various programmes, taking part in fundraising events and supporting campaigns that will aim to improve the lives of young people.
Reid is now preparing for his second season in the British Supersport Championship after a debut campaign in which he celebrated six podium finishes from eleven races, including a debut victory at Oulton Park.
Reid said: "I am privileged to be named as an Ambassador for The Prince's Trust. I have faced adversity in my fledging motorcycle career, including a number of serious injuries, and each time I have had to dig deep, work hard and find a way to come back stronger.
"I hope that by sharing some of my experiences I can become a positive role model and help young people get their lives back on track through the various and hugely successful programmes that the Prince's Trust has to offer."
Sarah Reynolds, Volunteering and Partnerships Manager said:"We are so pleased to welcome Andy to the Prince's Trust. In his role as Celebrity Ambassador (a volunteer role), Andy will lend his voice to a number of campaigns and initiatives throughout the year to support 13 to 30 year olds who are unemployed and those at risk of exclusion."
