Marconi joins Motorpoint British Supersport Evo grid with Tsingtao MV Agusta

Former World Supersport contender Luca Marconi will make his debut in Britain this season after signing for the Tsingtao MV Agusta team.

The Italian has spent the past four seasons in the World Championship and is now gearing up for the new challenge in Britain following his first test on the MV Agusta at Snetterton.

Marconi said: "I am really happy to sign for Dave and his team. We have done some testing together and I can see how good the bike is already. For me coming to a new championship means a lot. I can't wait to get to learn more UK tracks and I know my team-mate Luke Jones will help me too. I'm very happy to riding with team and this is a big opportunity for stay on the top in 2015. I can't wait to get started."

Team owner Dave Tyson commented: "Luca has been with us for a few weeks testing and also had options in World Supersport, so for him to choose to come to the UK shows his passion for our championship.  He has experience on a Supersport bike and we will give him the best package we can, both him and Luke will be pushing to be the first EVO bikes."
