The MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship kicks off at Silverstone this weekend (April 8/9/10) and ahead of the much-anticipated opening round of the season, several of the leading stars of the series will be visiting Xscape Milton Keynes on Thursday (April 7) to meet fans ahead of the first races of 2016.
Silverstone is one of the fastest circuits on the calendar and ahead of the riders hitting the track on Friday for free practice, when they will reach speeds of around 180mph; they will be signing autographs and meeting fans in Milton Keynes.
You will be able to get closer to the riders and their race bikes which will be on display from 13:30 - 14:30 outside the main entrance to Xscape Milton Keynes. JG Speedfit Kawasaki's Leon Haslam, Bennetts Suzuki's Ryuichi Kiyonari, Honda Racing's Dan Linfoot, Be Wiser Ducati's Glenn Irwin, Lloyds British Moto Rapido Ducati's Danny Buchan plus Smiths Racing BMW's Howie Mainwaring and Anvil Hire TAG Racing's James Rispoli will be meeting fans ahead of their return to the Northamptonshire circuit.
The official Championship Nissan GT-R Safety Car will also be on display and the Silverstone team will be on site with their Battle Bus giving you all the information you need ahead of the event and a chance to purchase your advance tickets.
The huge venue is the ultimate entertainment destination in the area, offering a unique combination of extreme sports and leisure activities, where you can play, eat and shop all day and all night.
MCE British Superbike Championship Series Director Stuart Higgs commented: "There is always a huge buzz surrounding the opening round of the championship and for the first time in recent years we arrive at Silverstone to start the season.
"We have worked closely with the team at Xscape Milton Keynes to bring the championship to the area for the first time and it is a great chance to meet the riders and see the impressive race bikes up close before the weekend gets underway just down the road at Silverstone."
