Champion Pett steps up to Motorpoint British Supersport Evo

Freddy Pett has announced he will make the step up to the Motorpoint British Supersport Evo Championship this year after lifting the Triumph Triple Challenge title last season.

Pett, who secured the 2014 title with eight race victories and a further nine podium finishes, is now preparing for his first test onboard the Supersport-spec Triumph ahead of his debut in the Evo class.

Pett said: "I am very grateful for my long-term sponsors Dales Sports Surfaces Ltd and Triumph Dealership Hughenden M40 for providing me with the opportunity to step up to the hugely competitive Supersport Evo Championship. I am very much looking forward to the new challenge and aim to continue from the successes of 2014 and ultimately be challenging at the front for Evo Class podiums and victories.

"I pleased to be staying on a proven winning machine, the Triumph Daytona 675, especially with the help of Triumph tuning specialists T3 Racing, who are sure to provide me with the best equipment to be fighting for top honours. I cannot wait to ride the much higher-spec Triumph that the team have been building over the winter, with pre-season testing commencing soon. The extra power and chassis package of the Supersport-spec bike should suit my size and riding style even more than the standard Triumphs I've enjoyed success on in the TTC."
