Gearlink Kawasaki announce Hedger and Law for 2016 British Supersport Championship

Gearlink Kawasaki will return to battle for the 2016 British Supersport Championship, announcing the return of former Superstock 600 champion Luke Hedger and reigning Superstock 600 title-winner Mason Law, who progresses to the class.

The team revealed their line-up of the young contenders at Motorcycle Live at the NEC Birmingham. 19-year-old Hedger joined Gearlink Kawasaki during last season and consistently secured strong top ten results in every race and is ready to fight for more next year.

Hedger said: "I am so happy to be back with the Gearlink Kawasaki again for 2016, this next season will be my fourth with them. I am really looking forward to putting all my effort into the forthcoming year and I will be trying my hardest all year to achieve strong results. I must say a huge thank you to my sponsors especially SRS and my parents for always backing me. It is great to be back on the grid and there are many people to thank for that. I can't wait to get started - roll on April!"

20-year-old Law celebrated lifting the 2015 Superstock 600 title with an incredible season, scoring ten podium finishes and is now eager to take the next step in his career into the Supersport class.

Law said: "2015 was an awesome season for many reasons. I finally managed to win the Superstock 600 Championship and I managed to learn a lot about myself through the season. I found out what I need and what is not necessary throughout the year and one of the main things was being surrounded by a good team, something I have never had before and it was a huge benefit to me.

"I am extremely looking forward to 2016 as I will be joining a team that I have wanted to ride for since I entered the BSB paddock. Michael and Norma have a wealth of experience in this game and for me to make the step up to Supersport I felt the need to at least get in contact with them because I know that on the right bike and with the right team, good things can be achieved. I was fortunate to already have Kawasaki behind me putting some plans together. After completing my 2015 goal I was able to have a good meeting with Michael and Norma and we are now in the process of planning a testing programme so that we can arrive at round one at Silverstone with everything already in place to give it our all."

Team Principal Michael de Bidaph commented: "I am delighted to have signed Luke and Mason to compete in the British Supersport for the 2016 race season. Whilst I am sure it will be another extremely competitive year I feel that with these two young riders we will be able to achieve podiums and once again our aim is to put everything into winning the Supersport Championship. I am sure that they will push each other all the way so it will certainly be an exciting year."
